QMRD v1.0
The QuickBBS Message Ratio Detector
By Brian Tardiff
The /X\ASS Hysteria BBS
(508)465-3198 - 300-9600HST
THE CONFIGURATION FILE:
The file QMRD.CFG must be present in the same directory that you run
QMRD. An example QMRD.CFG file is included. The format should be as
follows:
The /X\ASS Hysteria BBS <*=--- Name of your Bulletin Board.
6 <*=--- The RATIO. (See RATIO note below)
15 <*=--- Info. Color
9 <*=--- Box Color (See COLOR note Below)
14 <*=--- Names Color
12 <*=--- Status Color
11 ____ <*=--- Highlight Color
Brian Tardiff \
Brian Tardiff \ The FIVE names that QMRD is to
Brian Tardiff >=------------ ignore. All are optional.
Brian Tardiff / You may use as many or as little as
Brian Tardiff____/ you wish.
* NOTE ON THE RATIO: For every message that the user posts, this should be
the number of calls that the user is entitled to.
Therefore the example is a "SIX TO ONE RATIO". If
your system uses a 5 to 1 ratio then the number should
be a 5 and so on.
* A NOTE ON THE COLOR: Until you run QMRD and see the result of the
bulletin, I suggest that you do not change the colors.
After you know what you are dealing with, it will be
much easier to make modifications.
COLOR CHART:
1: Blue 4: Red 7: Light Gray 10: Light Green 13: Light Purple
2: Green 5: Purple 8: Grey 11: Light Cyan 14: Yellow
3: Cyan 6: Amber 9: Light Blue 12: Light Red 15: White
* Blinking is NOT supported *
RUNNING QMRD:
Make sure that the USERS.BBS, QMRD.CFG, and QMRD.EXE are in the same
directory. To run QMRD simply enter:
QMRD [Output Path] [Options]
An example of this would be:
QMRD C:\QBBS\TXTFILES
The example shown would cause QMRD to output the QMRD.ANS and QMRD.ASC
file to the \QBBS\TXTFILES directory. Note that there is no trailing
backslash. If one is inserted, QMRD will give you an error message indicating
that your output path is invalid. The current available options are explained
later.
The "HYSTERIAWARE" Line as of 08-10-1989:
LASTON: QBBS - Allows the sysop to log onto the board and NOT be
the last caller when he finishes. The previous
caller will be the last caller even if the sysop
logs on more than once.
LEECH FINDER: The most popular Hysteriaware product! QMRD's sister
program but with File Ratios!
ADD-A-PAUSE: Add a 'Press Enter to Continue' automatically to any
textfile.
SEARCHIT: A powerful text searcher/displayer. Has logging
capabilities! VERY handy for LONG system files!
QCHANGE: Automatically edits the DORINFO1.DEF file to change
the sysop name and the origin line. Useful if you
have a node number ect in your origin line.
QUINFO: QuickBBS Utility that outputs an ansi and or ascii
file that aids the sysop in keeping up to date on
his users. It lists the users name, phone number,
number of times user has called, uploads, downloads,
message posts, and the last time the user has called.
NCHANGE These are little programs we use to edit users
AND - uploads/downloads and to change their aliases.
UDCHANGE Neither use video writes so they will run remotely.
RAWFILE: This makes a rawlist of every one of your file areas.
The RAWFILES.BBS created contains the names of the
files in that area and the number of files in that
area.
TASKEY: This is a handy util for any SysOp. It will take an
ascii menu (or text file) that contains the special
IBM Characters and converts it to a nice looking menu
that 80 column Apples and Commodores can actually see.
EXAMPLE: FROM TO
╒══════╕ +======+
│ Main │ : Main :
├──────┤ +------+
│ Menu │ : Menu :
╘══════╛ +======+
* All ascii menus on The Mass Hysteria BBS are converted
with TASKEY. Feel free to call and view them.
